If you’ve been following Spirit & Feathers on Instagram, it’s no secret that I am partial to DIY projects. In fact, in my latest blog which you can read here, I share my top 4 tips on deciding home projects to DIY. But the truth is, I wasn’t always #TeamDoItYourself. It took me a while to feel comfortable and confident to even consider a DIY project. While I still consider myself a novice, I am certainly continuing to learn the ins and outs of how to successfully tackle DIY projects. A lot of what I’ve learned is due to these 4 phenomenal women who are absolutely crushing the DIY game!

In today’s blog post, I am highlighting my top FIVE DIYers who are absolutely crushing it right now and I am crediting my DIY courage to them. These ladies are kicking serious DIY butts and taking names and I am absolutely here for it. So without further ado and in no particular order, here are the top 5 DIYers I’m obsessing over right now.

Danielle – @ournestonpowell

I honestly can’t recall how I stumbled across Danielle’s page, but I am SO happy I did. From her infectious personality and joyful spirit to her awesome musical selection during her time lapses, she is a breath of fresh air on my timeline. I love how she fearlessly tackles each project and takes us through the process but I also appreciate Danielle’s transparency when projects don’t quite go as planned. The reality of a DIY is that sometimes it might go left and she’s real and honest about that. Danielle has single-handedly completed a few DIY projects in her home with my favorite being her coffee table and oversized lamp and she’s currently in the process of refreshing her powder room. She is truly a beast and I love it!

Aminah – @neatly.living

I was introduced to Aminah’s profile on Instagram via the One Room Challenge. She and her husband tackled their master bedroom and it is absolutely GOALS! To start off with, the room includes an amazing black shiplap accent wall complete with a floating shelf, but it doesn’t stop there.  It also includes a beautiful color block bookshelf (Aminah crushes it with color block), a DIY blanket ladder, and a DIY bookshelf (dupe to a West Elm bookshelf) complete with seating area. The craftsmanship is at the level of top-notch professionalism and I appreciate their attention to detail on execution. Everything is SO good!

Marquita – @farfromcypress

I probably came across Marquita’s instagram within the last week and my goodness, this girl is on fire! Aside from being completely adorable with a fun spark, she is also not playing any games! She is the Rosie the Riveter of Insta in my eyes and I love how she boldly operates power tools and completely owns it! She is in the process of finishing off her Butler Pantry and so far she’s done such an amazing job taking us through each step of the process. Plus, clearly it must be genetic. She recently shared that her mother is completely building a shed from the ground up. How cool is that?!

Riya – @kinandkasa

What first attracted me to Riya’s account was her overall aesthetic but then I quickly learned she was an avid DIYer and I was completely ‘sold’! She has a slew of DIY highlights on her account and this just goes to show that she’s a true DIY warrior. Her latest project is the breakfast nook she completed and shared last week and it’s really incredible. I love how she repurposed a pew bench for the area and it was the perfect addition. I have a whole board dedicated to nooks on my Pinterest board and I really love a curated nook SO much. In addition to this, she’s tackled her entryway, coffee table and is taking us through the process of her fireplace refresh. I’m sure there’s a ton of DIYs up her sleeve and I can’t wait to see.

Rashida – @rashida.banks

Last up, we have one of my faves in the home interior space — Rashida. I began following Rashida on my personal page long before we even purchased a home and, needless to say, she does not disappoint! I love the style of her home and I appreciate her passion for interiors and styling so much. She completed an entryway project last summer in her home and this same project has inspired me to elevate our own entryway, which I am currently working on. She’s not scared of paint (or spray paint for that matter) and I love her hacks and work-arounds that she shares, allowing us to save a few coins. She’s certainly the real deal!

There are so many other fantastic DIYers I’d love to highlight and I’ll probably do a part deux, but for now I’m happy to share these awesome ladies and their creative talents.
